Can’t really handle the pumpkin cuteness that was involved here. 😍 Paint stamping and printing with cotton swabs and fall pasta pieces, twisting paper stems, drawing lines and loops with paint sticks, and learning about harvest moons with the sweetest pumpkins of all was 🟰 to a little slice of pumpkin pie heaven.🥧🍁

On that adorable note, I am thrilled to partner with RES’ PTA to offer an 8-week session of after-school art enrichment classes beginning on Oct.14th (3:15-4:30)! If your child thrives on having time to unwind, explore, experiment, and express themselves through creative, hands-on avenues, we are a great match. Please see details on the flyer to register, as well as share with other Rockburn families who may be interested. Families of future Rockies, if you’d like to bring these experiences to your child’s preschool, child care center, a play date, etc., DM @chrysaliscraftclub to chat and dream up some possibilities.

Woodland Wonders 🌲🐿️🐻🦊: Our “wondering brains”🧠 and “wandering imaginations” 💭 led us to making hungry woodland characters. We used egg cartons to create snouts for a 3D effect, as well as paint sticks, watercolors, and tacky glue. We referred to forest-filled photographs including one of a bear that passed through our neighborhood one week prior (yowza!), looked at animated and drawn illustrations in books, and brainstormed what these little creatures would want to eat at a feast with friends. It was a lot of fun. Happy Fall Y’all! 🍂

A Happy Little Accident (True story and reconnection to time in my grandparents’ home, a sense of wonder in the early years, and the impact that pauses for calm and creativity (Bob Ross the 🐐) had on me as a deeply empathetic child. 🖼️🖌️🎨

Takeaway: It’s never too late to try or learn something new, especially if your heart calls you to do it.

Fine Motor Fall is near! 🍁With a continued celebration of pre-loved materials, we created simple,
but snazzy, fall trees. They were constructed out of cardboard, coffee filters, markers, and water, inspired by a post from Simple Play & Craft Ideas! Our artists added personal touches, depth and texture like this one ☝🏻using puzzle pieces and vibrant paper from a previous marbling project. The results were gorgeous fall trees from a colorful land, far, far away. 😌🌤️🍭🌳

Families of little creators…It is a joy to provide a safe, comfy space to explore, grow, and support brilliant brain connections through art and sensory play. In my 20 years as an early childhood educator, the call to nurture and uplift children to shine with a grounded sense of self and unique perspective has always directed my steps. “Magnificent Me”: This project emerged from a clea

“Magnificent Me”: This project emerged from a clearing of old boxes containing cardboard protective inserts. What started with a more one-dimensional idea to add details about themselves, grew into creations that told so much more than a favorite food, show, color, etc. it was their magnificent character traits and personalities that truly shined through. An a”maze”ing monster obstacle course/game reflected the mind behind the creation: one of perseverance, flexibility, ingenuity, critical thinking, and humor. 👿 A “fairyland” reflected the artist’s creative lens, adaptability, connection to prior experiences and bold choices/consideration for those who live there. 🌭🫘😆🧚‍♂️ (Fairies need to eat too.)

These experiences are ones that I cherish and inspire me to keep following my heart to grow the Chrysalis Craft Club 🦋 and uplift the promising “Magnificent Me’s” in our community.

When “out-of-the-box” and “in-the-box” thinking happens simultaneously, the final product is out of this world! 👽🪐When one of our inspired artisans shared a new interest in creating mini models, we put repurposing, creative problem-solving, tacky glue, a glue gun, paint pens, reused tiny toys, and an imagination into action. With lots of references and details connected to the artist, this was such a fun project to witness! Look carefully. What do you see? 🔬

Chrysalis is thankful for the beautiful materials included in the Foyucool DIY Bookshop Kit, and whoever donated it in perfect condition, to be used for years to come! 💫

For “Waterworks” week, all of our creators passing through channeled Bruce Lee’s lesson, “Be like water.” Excited to revisit this reminder again and again as we continue to create with beautifully unique prints.

When our minds say “Why?”, our hearts say “Why not?!”🩷 Curiosity, choice, initiative, and ownership were in action, creating a beautiful, colorful sight! Who knew hedgehog hair salons was a thing?! 😆 PSA: Save all your gift cards, swipe cards, old bank cards, etc. and use them for smoothing out dots of paint to create unexpected and colorful tie-dye effects. Fun for All ages. COLOR ME AMAZED! 😍🎨
