This is how it all started…
No stranger to pompoms, paint piles, smudges, and spills, the Chrysalis Craft Club was designed with love by Kristin Alise Anzures—an experienced early childhood educator with nearly 20 years of teaching Kindergarten and 2nd grade in Howard County, MD. With a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from Towson University, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from McDaniel College, and a current Maryland State Certification, Kristin is passionate about nurturing the whole child through creative self-expression, connection and open-ended learning experiences.
Kristin finds deep joy in listening to children’s emerging voices and seeing the world through their sense of wonder. Inspired by messy adventures with her two creative children and supportive and resourceful husband, she felt called to explore new heart-centered pathways to cultivate confidence and foster vital life skills through art. In addition to her love of drawing and writing, Kristin wrote and released a solo acoustic album, Beautiful Souls and performs as the lead vocalist and contributor of original tunes for the soulful funk group, 8 Ohms Band.
All of these experiences led to the creation of the Chrysalis Craft Club—a cozy home studio where “small but mighty” artists can explore, create, and express themselves while growing into empathetic, open-hearted individuals. With a focus on process-based art, children are invited to discover, experiment, and follow their curiosity through sensory play, collage, craft, & mixed media projects and creative exploration stations.
There’s no pressure to make something “perfect”—just space to create, explore, and grow. 💛
