Be You, Boo

For you are worthy, just by being (you).

As my children head off to school or activities, we’ve created a simple but meaningful routine: “I love you” and “Be You”—sometimes playfully, “Be you, boo!” This daily affirmation reflects our family’s core values of kindness, confidence, and self-expression for kids. It’s a reminder not only to treat others with care, but to show that same compassion to themselves.

The idea of “Be You” is always evolving. It includes a child’s personality, creativity, emotions, challenges, and joys—all the unique qualities that shape who they are. Encouraging children to embrace their individuality helps build self-esteem, emotional growth, and creative confidence. At its core, we believe every child is worthy simply by being who they are—an important foundation for lifelong confidence and well-being.

At Chrysalis, this philosophy is woven into every children’s art class, creative activity, and hands-on experience we offer. Beyond art, we create a nurturing space where kids feel safe to explore, express themselves, and grow. Our goal is for every child to feel a true sense of belonging—valued, supported, and celebrated for their unique voice and creativity.

Through art, play, and connection, we help children stay grounded in who they are while discovering new ways to express themselves. Because when kids feel seen, supported, and inspired, they gain the confidence to shine—just as they are.

Cheers to your “YOU”ness,

Kristin
